How to Apply
We have fourteen categorical residency training positions available per year to medical students through the match. We accept applications only through the Electronic Residency Applications Service (ERAS).
Once the complete application is received, the residency selection committee will review it and interviews will be granted by email invitation. Interview scheduling will be through interview broker.
For the 2022-23 application season, interviews will occur virtually.

Do you have any tips for virtual interviews?
-
Conduct your interview in a well-lit and quiet environment. While we encourage you to find a space where you can focus and not be interrupted, if you are having difficulties we are willing to work around them and be flexible.
-
If you are using a laptop, phone, or tablet, fully charge your device prior to the interview.
-
Silence your other devices. However, it is best to have a phone or another device handy in case your primary device is having technical difficulties. Please make sure you have Zoom downloaded on at least 2 devices.
-
Test your internet connection to ensure it’s strong and working.
-
Confirm that your webcam works properly. If you don’t have a headset, be prepared to mute your microphone when you aren’t talking.
Is there a dress code for the interview?
We encourage business formal attire for your interview
Is there anything I need to do after the interview?
No. The virtual interview is the complete and final interview. PennEM does not consider “demonstrated interest” in our application review process. This means that we do not consider whether an applicant has visited our hospital, emailed a thank-you note to their interviewers, or engaged in any other point of contact with us. If you’d like to visit us from the comfort of your own home, we invite you to explore campus through our content on www.pennem.com.
